The IOTA mainnet has been halted by the IOTA Foundation (IF) after multiple users reported that their funds were stolen after using the Trinity wallet, one of the most popular ways to store IOTA. IF co-founder Dominik Schiener says the current estimates point to between $300,000 and $1.2 million in losses. The IF is already in contact with multiple victims to collect more information on the attacks.
The blockchain-powered Chiliz has scored a partnership with yet another major sports club – the company has announced that Spanish football powerhouse FC Barcelona will launch a fan token on the company’s Socios platform. Chiliz says the tokens will become available in Q2 of this year. 40 million tokens will be created, and they will initially be selling for €2 apiece (about $2.17).
The Coinbase Pro cryptocurrency exchange has re-introduced crypto margin trading for users, although the service will initially only be available to users that reside in 23 US states. Compared to some other exchanges on the market, Coinbase Pro has opted for a conservative approach, limiting the maximum leverage allowed to 3x.
