Cuba’s central bank is establishing a framework for recognizing and regulating cryptocurrencies. The Central Bank of Cuba says that it could authorize the use of certain crypto assets to facilitate commercial transactions, and provide licenses to cryptocurrency service providers.
A recent report from blockchain analytics platform Chainalysis, including data spanning from July ‘20 to June ‘21, provides interesting insights into how crypto adoption rates have spiked by almost nine-fold over the past 1-year period. Bitcoin infrastructure and development firm Blockstream is now valued at $3.2 billion after raising a $210 million Series B. The investment round was backed by investment firm Baillie Gifford and Bitfinex operator iFinex.
