About wETH

wETH or "wrapped ETH" is an "ERC-20 representation" of Ether (ETH). It was designed so that it allows users to trade ETH for other ERC-20 tokens on decentralized platforms. The ERC-20 standard was released after the introduction of Ether, the native currency of the Ethereum blockchain, which doesn't meet the ERC-20 standard. Without this "wrap", it wouldn't be possible to trade ETH with other ERC-20 tokens on decentralized platforms like Radar Relay or 0x Portal.
