Key highlights:

  • A newly created wallet withdrew 30,010 ETH worth $52.84 million from Coinbase Prime
  • Exchange inflows fell to just $139,000 worth of ETH over the past 24 hours
  • ETH has reclaimed its 20-day SMA, but a negative fund market premium suggests caution remains

According to on-chain data, a newly created wallet recently withdrew 30,010 ETH valued at approximately $52.84 million from Coinbase Prime. Large withdrawals from exchanges are often viewed as a bullish signal because they reduce the immediately available supply that can be sold on the open market.

The transaction comes at a time when Ethereum's price action is attempting to stabilize after months of weakness, prompting investors to closely monitor whether accumulation trends can translate into a sustained recovery.

Whale accumulation coincides with shrinking exchange supply

The latest whale movement is not the only encouraging sign for Ethereum bulls.

Exchange Flow data shows that only $139,000 worth of ETH moved into exchanges during the past 24 hours. Such low inflows typically indicate reduced selling pressure, as fewer investors are transferring their holdings to trading platforms.

Historically, periods of declining exchange balances have often coincided with accumulation phases, particularly when large holders begin moving assets into private wallets.

The combination of whale withdrawals and weak exchange inflows suggests that some market participants may be positioning for higher prices rather than preparing to sell.

Technical indicators flash early recovery signals

Ethereum's chart structure has also started to improve.

For the first time since the asset broke below the $1,800 level back on June 4, ETH has managed to reclaim its 20-day Simple Moving Average (SMA). The move indicates that short-term momentum is gradually shifting in favor of buyers.

Meanwhile, Bollinger Bands remain widely separated, signaling elevated volatility conditions. Large Bollinger Band divergence often precedes significant price swings, though the direction of the move is not guaranteed.

Should buyers maintain control above the 20-day SMA, Ethereum could build momentum toward reclaiming higher resistance levels. A successful breakout could encourage sidelined investors to re-enter the market.

Negative premium signals lingering caution

Despite the improving on-chain and technical metrics, not all indicators are aligned with a bullish outlook.

Fund market premium data remains negative, currently hovering around -0.7. A negative premium suggests Ethereum is trading below the value implied by its underlying holdings. That presents a warning signal of a potential further correction.

The metric indicates that demand has not fully recovered despite recent accumulation activity. As a result, Ethereum may require stronger buying pressure before confirming a broader trend reversal.

As it stands, the market appears to be at an important crossroads. Whale accumulation, falling exchange inflows, and improving technical indicators are providing support for a bullish narrative. However, the negative premium shows that investor confidence has yet to fully return.

Whether Ethereum can convert these early signals into a sustained rally may depend on whether buyers continue absorbing supply and push the asset above key resistance zones in the coming weeks.
