Bitfinex is a cryptocurrency exchange and trading platform that is the world’s largest in terms of Bitcoin trading volume. Because Bitfinex is designed for professional traders, it provides advanced algorithmic order types and has a highly customizable interface coupled with an extensive range of charting tools that are integrated with TradingView. In 2016, Bitfinex lost $72 million of Bitcoin through a hack and was forced to use tokens as a means of plugging the shortfall. It recouped the loss however and by March 2017 all users had been paid back.
