Key highlights:
- The ZEC price broke above the key $675–$745 resistance zone and climbed past $800
- Zcash added roughly $5.7 billion in market value as buying activity accelerated
- Traders are watching ETF developments and the $900–$950 zone for the next move
Zcash just put together one of its best rallies in years. It broke past a massive resistance zone that had been holding it down for the last 12 months and is now trading above $800. The big question now is whether it can hold above that old ceiling, $675 to $745 and keep pushing toward the $1,000 mark.
Part of the excitement comes from a potential new catalyst. A post from Wise Advice pointed to Grayscale's proposed Zcash ETF, ticker ZCSH, which is targeting an August 25 launch on NYSE Arca pending final regulatory approval.
The ETF would convert Grayscale's existing Zcash Trust and could provide traditional investors with regulated exposure to ZEC through brokerage accounts. The timing is notable because the ZEC price had already rallied to yearly highs before the ETF narrative gained momentum.
The ZEC price just cleared a major resistance wall
We had a look at the ZEC chart shared by Crypto Rand, and the breakout is difficult to ignore. For months, that $675–$745 zone was a brick wall. Price got rejected there twice, once in late 2025, and again in mid-2026. But this time was different. Buyers smashed through it and pushed the ZEC price up to around $818.
$ZEC is breaching over the $750 resistance and setting a new yearly high. If manages to turn this resistance into the new support and consolidates it will be primed for a further bullish wave. pic.twitter.com/95AVXxqbgf

Zoom out, and the pattern looks like a classic recovery. The ZEC price crashed from about $740 down to $110 between late 2025 and early 2026. Then it spent months slowly building a base. Now it's finally breaking out. The first breakout from a descending wedge arrived in March and April 2026.
After that, the asset consolidated between roughly $345 and $745 before launching into the latest move higher. For bullish traders, the key development is simple. The former resistance zone between $675 and $745 now needs to hold as support. If that happens, the path toward $1,000 becomes much clearer.
ZEC volume and market cap confirm strong demand
Price gains alone do not always tell the full story. In Zcash's case, the capital flowing into the asset helps explain why the breakout has attracted attention. Glassnode data tells the story. Zcash's market cap went from about $8.6 billion during the accumulation phase to roughly $14.3 billion at the peak of the rally.
Even after some profit-taking, it's still hanging near $14 billion. That's about $5.7 billion in fresh value flowing into Zcash in a short time. And it lines up with what traders were seeing on the lower timeframes too. The move was real.
We had a look at the ZEC chart on the 4-hour timeframe and found multiple clusters of large green volume candles appearing during the advance from the $500-$600 range toward the $900 area.
4-hour ZEC chart analysis
Those volume spikes indicate strong participation from buyers rather than a low-liquidity move. The ZEC price reached a local high of $922.66 before easing back toward the mid-$800 region, where the market is now attempting to stabilize.
ETF launch could become the next major catalyst
Beyond technicals, traders are watching developments surrounding Grayscale's proposed Zcash ETF. The proposed structure includes Coinbase Custody as the custodian and Jane Street alongside Virtu as authorized participants.
🚨 $ZEC MAY BE ABOUT TO GET ITS BIGGEST WALL STREET MOMENT YET.
Grayscale's Zcash ETF, ZCSH, is targeting an August 25 launch on NYSE Arca, subject to final regulatory clearance.
And the timing couldn't be crazier.

Wise Advice also noted that the trust already controls nearly 2.3% of the circulating ZEC supply and could receive an additional contribution of approximately 200,000 ZEC from a Digital Currency Group subsidiary. If approved, the ETF would create a direct pathway for traditional investors to gain exposure to Zcash without handling wallets or self-custody solutions.
That does not automatically guarantee higher prices. Markets often rally ahead of major events and then pause once the event arrives. The ZEC price had already moved from roughly $500 to above $850 before the proposed launch date, meaning expectations have already become part of the market narrative.
Zcash momentum remains bullish
The technicals still look good overall, but some indicators are flashing that this rally might be getting a bit stretched. On the 4-hour chart, RSI is at 68.38. That's bullish territory and still under the 70 overbought line. The 100-period SMA is around $578.49, so ZEC is sitting well above its medium-term support.
Daily ZEC chart analysis
The daily chart tells a different story though. RSI is at 84.38. That's the kind of number you see after aggressive moves. Doesn't mean the rally is done, but a pause or cooldown would be totally normal after this kind of run.
Support levels are clear. First major one is near $800, which lines up with the daily 0.618 Fibonacci level around $808.31. Below that, $732 is another key Fibonacci support. As long as ZEC holds above those levels, the bigger bullish picture stays intact.
Can the ZEC price reach $1,000 next?
The next big test is $900 to $950. The price already hit some selling there after touching $922.66. If buyers push through that zone, $1,000 becomes the obvious target. Zoom out to the 3-day chart, and there's an even bigger zone up ahead, $1,410 to $1,460.
The combination of a confirmed breakout above $745, approximately $5.7 billion in market cap growth, strong volume expansion, and anticipation surrounding a potential ETF launch gives bulls several reasons for optimism.
For now, the most important test is whether the ZEC price can defend its breakout zone and keep buyers engaged above $745. If that level holds, the conversation may soon move from whether Zcash can reach $1,000 to how quickly it can get there.
According to CoinCodex’s 1-month ZEC price prediction, the price is projected to reach around $1,111.26, which is above the current trading range near $850-$860 and would place the ZEC price comfortably above the psychological $1,000 level if that target is achieved.
