We’ve updated CoinCodex with a redesigned news page and major improvements to how non-USD currencies are handled across the site.
This update is focused on helping users follow the market more easily, while also making price data more accurate and useful for people who prefer viewing values in currencies other than USD.
A redesigned news page
We’ve launched a new design for the CoinCodex news page, making it easier to browse the latest crypto stories, market updates, project news, and analysis.
The updated page is designed to feel cleaner, faster to scan, and more useful for users who want to quickly catch up on what is happening in the market.
More writers, broader market coverage
Along with the new news page design, we’ve also expanded our team of writers.
This allows us to cover more of the crypto market, publish more frequently, and deliver a larger amount of high-quality news, analysis, and market coverage.
Markets move quickly, and having a bigger editorial team helps us keep up with more stories across Bitcoin, stocks, regulation, market trends, and emerging sectors.
Better support for non-USD currencies
We’ve also made a major improvement to how CoinCodex handles prices in currencies other than USD.
Previously, historical prices shown in a selected currency could be recalculated from USD using the current exchange rate. That worked for basic display purposes, but it did not fully reflect how the selected currency actually moved over time.
Now, historical prices track the selected currency’s real historical movements more accurately. For example, by comparing Bitcoin's performance over the last 5 years, you can clearly see the impact of inflation on the Turkish Lira relative to the US Dollar.
Over the past 5 years, BTC/USD gained 64%.
Over the past 5 years, BTC/TRY gained 146%. Also, notice how big of a difference there is between the two charts when looking at the pre-2023 part.
More accurate historical charts, better ATH, ATL, and historical data
This change improves historical chart accuracy for users who view prices in non-USD currencies.
For example, if a user views Bitcoin in EUR, the historical chart now reflects how Bitcoin actually moved against EUR over time, instead of simply taking the USD price history and converting it using today’s USD/EUR exchange rate.
That means charts should better reflect the real experience of users who follow markets in their local currency.
The improved currency handling also affects other historical values, including things like:
- All-time highs
- All-time lows
- Historical chart values
- Price changes over past periods
- Other currency-specific historical market data
These values are now closely tied to the selected currency’s actual historical performance, instead of being based on a simple current-rate conversion between USD and the selected currency.
Why this matters
Markets are global, and not every user thinks in USD.
For users who follow prices in EUR, GBP, CAD, AUD, INR, JPY, or other supported currencies, accurate historical data makes a big difference. It helps users better understand price performance, past highs and lows, and market movements in the currency they actually use.
Combined with the new news page and expanded editorial coverage, this update makes CoinCodex more useful for a global audience.
