Although the cryptocurrency market as a whole is in the green today, you might be wondering why is up by a whopping 60.3%. As is often the case, the reason for the sudden price spike of a coin is a listing on a major exchange – ICON just became available on Bithumb Pro, an advanced version of Bithumb, the largest cryptocurrency exchange in South Korea. In the official announcement, Bithumb called ICON “the Korean version of ETH” and announced an airdrop program for Bithumb and Bithumb Pro traders with more than 1 million won in volume between today and Sunday.

ICX is not yet available on the main Bithumb exchange, but the company says that a listing on the main exchange is planned further down the line. Although ICON is a Korean project, The Bithumb Pro listing marks the first time its token is available on a Korean exchange, which explains at least some of the massive enthusiasm that seems to be behind this move. ICX is trading at $3.48 at the time of writing.
